Metro Boomin Wins Sexual Assault Lawsuit in Los Angeles
Renowned music producer Leland Tyler Wayne, known professionally as Metro Boomin, has been found not liable in a civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault and battery. The verdict came after a three-day trial in Los Angeles, where a jury sided with the hip-hop artist. The suit stemmed from accusations made last year, claiming Wayne impregnated a woman almost ten years prior. No criminal charges were ever filed in the case.
Wayne, a 32-year-old native of St. Louis, expressed relief and gratitude in a statement shared on social media. He thanked God for the opportunity to move past the ordeal, stating that the allegations were completely out of character and damaging to his reputation.
The producer emphasized the negative impact the accusations had on his "family friendly brand," causing distress to him and his loved ones, particularly his younger siblings who are still in school.
The plaintiff, Vanessa LeMaistre, alleged that Wayne sexually assaulted her in 2016. According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred after Wayne gave her a single alcoholic drink during a studio session, after she had already consumed half of a Xanax pill.
Requests for comment from LeMaistre's attorney remain unanswered.
