Netflix Unveils New Clip from The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep at Geeked Week 2024
At Netflix's Geeked Week 2024 event, fans were treated to an exciting first look at The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, an upcoming animated film that continues to expand the world of Geralt of Rivia. The clip, introduced by Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in the original games, showcased Geralt's next adventure as he faces off against merpeople, promising fans plenty of action and intrigue.
Cockle, with his signature gravelly voice, enthusiastically teased the new storyline, exclaiming, "He's gonna cross swords with merpeople of all things!" He hyped up the battle scenes, building anticipation for what's shaping up to be an exciting installment in The Witcher franchise. The clip itself featured a campfire scene where Geralt and Jaskier (voiced by Joey Batey, reprising his role from the live-action series) engage in a humorous exchange. Jaskier, ever the romantic, picks up on Geralt's interest in Essi, a bard and love interest from the short story "A Little Sacrifice," and attempts to play matchmaker.
Set between episodes five and six of the first season of The Witcher series, Sirens of the Deep adapts the Andrzej Sapkowski short story A Little Sacrifice. In the film, Geralt is hired to investigate mysterious attacks in a seaside village, where he soon becomes entangled in an ancient conflict between humans and merpeople.
Produced by Studio MIR, known for animating The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf in 2021, this South Korean animation studio continues to bring dynamic and vivid visuals to The Witcher universe. Fans can expect the same high-quality animation and storytelling when The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep begins streaming on Netflix on February 11, 2025.
This animated feature will be another exciting addition to the world of The Witcher, offering fans more insight into Geralt's adventures and the rich mythology of the Witcherverse.
